Cognia Accredited Private
Online School

As of June 2026, Wellspring Global Academy is fully accredited through Cognia, one of the most widely recognized accrediting bodies in K-12 education. For every family enrolled at Wellspring, and every family considering it, this milestone means one thing: the personalized education your student receives carries formal, third-party recognition behind it.

How Our Accreditation Works

Cognia accredits schools and school systems against rigorous, independently reviewed standards for teaching quality, leadership, and continuous improvement. Its three regional divisions are NCA CASI, NWAC, and SACS CASI, which extend that recognition across the country.

Wellspring Global Academy earns full accreditation through the Innovative Network of Knowledge (INK), the nonprofit organization that operates Wellspring. For families, the takeaway is simple: your student attends a Cognia accredited school.

What Accreditation Means for Your Student

Credit Transferability

Accredited coursework is more readily accepted when students move between schools or transition to higher education.

College Recognition

Colleges and universities broadly recognize diplomas and transcripts from Cognia-accredited schools. Wellspring graduates do not need to provide additional credentialing to establish legitimacy when applying.

Diploma Recognition

A Wellspring diploma carries the full credibility of Cognia's standards, recognized by employers, higher education institutions, and licensing bodies.

NCAA Eligibility

Cognia accreditation is an important component of the NCAA eligibility review, but eligibility is determined individually based on coursework, GPA, and test scores. We encourage student-athletes to connect with their Educational Concierge early to plan a course path that meets NCAA requirements from the start.

ESA Funding

Wellspring is approved for Education Savings Account funding in multiple states. ESA eligibility is determined separately from accreditation. Visit our ESA page for state-specific details.

Built on Rigorous Standards

TEKS-Aligned Curriculum
Wellspring's K-12 curriculum is built on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS), the standards framework developed by the Texas Education Agency. TEKS defines what students should know and be able to do at each grade level across all core subjects. Alignment to TEKS means Wellspring students are held to the same academic benchmarks as students in Texas public schools, with coursework designed for rigor, sequence, and transferability. Learn more about our academic programs at the Academics Overview.

Certified, Experienced Faculty
Every Wellspring teacher holds certification in their subject area. Many are multi-certified and bring significant experience in curriculum development and virtual instruction. Our educators complete ongoing professional development designed specifically for online learning environments, so academic quality translates consistently across every grade and course.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my child's credits transfer to other schools?

Cognia accreditation strengthens credit recognition, though receiving institutions still make their own transfer decisions. Our Educational Concierge team provides complete transcripts and supporting documentation to make that process as smooth as possible for every family.

Does a Wellspring diploma prepare students for college admissions?

Yes. Cognia-accredited diplomas are recognized by colleges and universities across the country. For college-bound students, our Educational Concierge provides support for applications, standardized test preparation, AP and dual enrollment planning, and transcript documentation.

Does accreditation affect my student-athlete's NCAA eligibility?

Cognia accreditation is an important factor in the NCAA eligibility review, but the NCAA Eligibility Center evaluates each student individually based on specific coursework, GPA, and test scores. We strongly recommend student-athletes begin working with their Educational Concierge as early as possible to build a compliant course plan from the start.

What changed from Wellspring's previous status?

Wellspring was previously in the candidacy phase of the accreditation process. As of June 2026, that process is complete. We have moved from candidacy to full accreditation, and the transparency we maintained throughout that journey now gives way to a milestone our families can rely on.
